Pay attention to initials also. I wanted to name my son Samuel Adam after the brewer/patriot but his initials would be SAC. Not the best nickname.
My first name is Brenden and I second that remark. You already have a last name that he will have to spell all his life the least you could do is give him a first name that won't have to be spelled out to everone he meets.
Red sled, these are good choices! My bro-in-law's name is Henry Augustus but we all call him Rick, he wanted his son to have the same initials, so they named him Harley Ace! And it fits perfectly. The only problem has been we have run into one or two girls named Harley and that makes my nephew really mad Angie
I actually think that Ardun is an excellent boy's name. My own children will end up with terrible names like Pugsly, Zombo, Wednesday, Octavia, Gomez, Vlad, Damien and Lilly, but I'm evil.... Have you considered any music inspired names I just flipped through my stuff by artist, here's some of the off beat/interesting ones: Lux, Jello, Hasil, Hayden, Buck, Wade, Conway, Hollis, Hop, Kip, Waylon & Rusty Just remember trendy stuff goes in and out, it was weird for me as a Noah, at about eighteen all of the sudden hot young moms were hollering at me everywhere. Top 30 for around 8 years running, terrible.
Good to know I am not the only that read that book. We have a boy coming in Feb. Gonna name him Jaxon.
I definately vote for "Race"...although one of my friends named his son that except he spelled it "Rayce", I guess so when he grows up he can be called "Ray" if he wants. A guy I went to high school with was a "Machado" and his name was "Miguel" and had a younger brother called "Byron", which I both thought were good names.
I personally think if your going to go with a car influenced name, you should be subtle. IF I ever had a son, his name would be Vaughn, Henry, or Carroll. And I don't think you could go wrong with Arlo.....
You could always name him "goddamnit" or maybe "NO", youll be using those two words alot the first few years anyway. Then when he becomes a teenager, youll be using them alot again
Didn't read all the pages, and this may have already been mentioned, but when our son was born my intention was to name our kids after defunct car companies. Tucker (also the wife's maiden name) was my first choice. There's also Nash, Packard, Hudson etc. Edsel would also be good. Anybody got any more? Count
I like the sort of good, short, working class meat & potato names guys got back in early 1900s - Gus, Vern, Joe, Sam, Chuck, Ed, Bill, Bob, Vic. No nonsense, no pretense. I named my son Chester ("Chet") after my grandpa. How can you not like a guy named Chet?
I was also thinking along the "initials theme" R.P.M. 'cept I was thinking "Russell Paul". "Russell" also fits the automotive theme. Dependent on what he gets into for a living, Revolutions Per Minute could als mean: RedHat Package Manager Revenue Passenger Mile Real Property Manager I bet there's more... Pope. .
Please be kind, don't name your kid some stupid name he or she has to go thru life with that name. Besides give life to your child, a name is the most importent thing you will give your kid. If you woun't want that name for yourself don't give it to your kid. We all know someone who has a f*cked~up name or has give there kid a f*cked~up name so please give you child a good name. IF you want to give you kid a nick~name ok.
