Lately I was watching a YouTube video of cars getting crushed and it was mostly 4 door Impalas being crushed, and when you do see older cars being crushed it's because they have already been stripped of any useable parts by hot rodders . So, I thought how about a thread for the old family cars that got saved.

if you sell every useable part from a car there is not enough left to crush

I have a bit of everything, some have 2 doors, others 4 or 5. I am either too young or too stupid to understand the hang up over two doors. No one has ever accused my wagon of not being cool because it had too many doors.

My first car, 1969, this is what it looked liked only months after I sold it, the 348 was put in a T-bucket roadster being built by the guy I bought my next car from, a 57 BelAir 2 dr ht.
I don't think it got saved.

I currently do not. Been broke for a few months after a boat purchase this summer, and was saving back up for re fattening my checking account. Just getting happy with the balance, and last night passed a 59 caddy more door in decent shape for $8500 and thought "damnit! There goes that money!"

Gonna stop and look it over on the way home, lol....

This one avoided the crusher by hiding in a shed for 50 years before being revived.

Had a sweet 34 before it got stolen in Ca back in the 80's. Frenched tail lights and bobbed of rear fenders.

39 Merc.jpg My '39 Merc Town Sedan, purchased it when I was 13 with paper route money (and Dad's OK). Had to sell it to a collector due to loosing garage space. Bugged him for 45 years to sell it back to me. Got it back about 5 years ago.

I've owned way too many two-many doors to want any more. But; this ones been in the family since '41 so guess I'll keep it...

I'm working on a '55 Ford Fairlane 4 door that my parents bought new. It's the car I learned to drive on. Kinda rough right now but getting there. People who don't like 4 doors make them more affordable for the rest of us. I have the same dash and steering wheel in front of me and the same view through the windshield as a guy who has a Club Sedan (2 door), Victoria, or Crown Vic.

This is my first 50s car I got about 9 months ago. Not sure if it would have gone to the crusher but definitely some auction block. I like to think I saved it. The little hemi is pretty sweet

I have often said that 4 doors look pretty much the same from the drivers seat looking across the hood. :D I don't have this one anymore, but drove it quite a bit a few years ago smiling the whole time.
