Here is mine. Not severely chopped (3.5"). I like how I did it, but a tapered 4" front and 3.5 rear with the laid back A pillar would be killer.

The grey 617c is a car that my dad and I ( I'm the one with the hat in the background in the pictures above) just finished up building last year. The car has never been on the road since the early 40's, when it was chopped and intended to be strictly for racing at the lakes. It is chopped 6 1/2" in the front, and somewhere between 5 or 5 3/4 in the rear, we don't know. You can't even fit a beer can through the largest opening in the side windows! The car p***ed through multiple owners who could never get it to be fully built. The car sat in a guys shed for over 30 years until 2006 when my dad and I bought it from the man in Salt Lake City. We did a ground up build on it, and I was the first one to drive it since it was dis***embled in about 1945. The number, motor, and original timing tag in it is from a great, longtime friend of ours that ran at bonneville in 1952 in his 1934 3 window. Anyways, this is the only time I have really had to reply, but if anyone would like more pictures of the car or to talk, you can check some pics out at www.myspace.com/zephyrspeed. Enjoy!:)

Here's a scan of the car Randy Bianchi built. I've had this picture on my wall for years, I cut it out of a magazine ad.
Randy what was the ad for, tires?

I found this photo I took of the car that used to be "the Bluebird"

Oh yeah, SinisterSpeed, I see an A crossmember and spring in the rear, but what did you do to get the front end down?? I see what looks to be a V8-60 axle, so I'm ***umin it's not a dropped axle. Can you shed some light.....?

started the chop on the streeter today, 3 3/4 in back, 4 1/8 in front with the post leaned back. i'll post some progess pics over the next couple of days. tommorrow will probably be spent getting the majority of the dents out of the roof and straightening up that insert a little, then onto the fun part of putting the puzzle back together.

ended up taking a little more out of it, almost 4 in back and 4 3/4 up front, it's actually starting to look like a car now.

i think this one's going to be a love it or hate it car for some people but i always loved the angle chops on the 60's altereds so it had to be done.

  12. SinisterSpeed, let get those details on how you got that car down so low!

    This thread needs revival!

Here is a 34 ford chopped 5 window that I had in burbank california in the early '70s. It has a unique chop and i always wonder if it is still around. I sold it to another guy in burbank california.
