I called the 800 line and the lady who answered the telephone had very little knowledge of here products did give me a answer after she talked to several others.. Corp has said they can no longer sell 5 gal part number MM 0015.. Years ago I bought 30 gal drums then 15gal drums then 5 gal and now only 1 gal at the time.. Not a lot of savings for bulk buyers..
One thing MMO also is good for is reducing the harmful effects of Ethanol and it's lots cheaper than Sta-Bil. I've used it since the 60's,also used to make my own engine ***embly lube from Wynn's Friction Proofing another product I miss. Then there is this: http://forums.accuweather.com/index.php?showtopic=26454
I picked up and nice old blackhawk ratchet for free from a neighbor. It had been under water for years when he found it on the bottom of a lake. Just for the heck of it I saved it and it was so rusted the head wouldn't even turn. I had some MMO around and filled a spray can lid with it and dropped the ratchet into it. It was sitting on the bench for a couple months as I forgot about it. I pulled it out and it looked like new up to the level of the MMO and it turned freely without doing anything else. Turned it around and did the other end and I have been using that old ratchet for over 40 years now.
A lot of people use WD-40 as a protectant when in reality it is closer related to a cleaner. It will clean protective oils from things and cause it to corrode faster. I like it for drilling when I do not have my vanishing oil as it is quick and easy to use.
If you soak your parsley overnight in marvel mystery oil you only need one sprig of parsley ....... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I have a chev 350 that has been sitting for close to 20 years. A long time ago I sprayed some WD-40 in the plug holes and replaced the plugs. Now I would like to put in some MMO in each cylinder and let it sit for a while before I start it. Has anyone done this? Good idea? Or not... Thanks How much should I add to each cyl. with a syringe? I don't want to hydro lock it
I used to work at a place that brought engines back to life after sitting for nearly sixty years, with some even longer. First thing done before trying to fire them up was to dump some MMO into them and let them sit overnight. Next day the engine was spun on the starter without plugs/injectors...so no hydro lock. After doing that, the engines were fired up. Since seeing those old engines fire up, I've been sold on the juice ever since. I add some to every fill up in my heap, to help counter valve sticking from modern fuel.
I wipe down cylinders after a hone with it on white paper towels until no gray shows. Then wipe the last time with it on a cut white tee shirt before final pistons/ring ***embly in the block. That’s it
Use all you want with the plugs out. You should want to spin it without plugs to get the oil flowing any way. I have relied on it for over 50 years on all kinds of motors,,, from brand new to flogged to death dead, they all did better with it. During regular use ( if not driving one of those new millennia E-tron FI jobs ) Four ounces in the gas every fill will help it last as long as you like.
I still use it. I have a small bottle under my sink with an invitro wand on it. Any lightbulb I change, the new one gets a couple of drops on the threads. No more stuck bulbs in sockets. I worked on bikes with my dad as a kid. He would take a rusty chain, roll it up and drop it into a shallow container with MMO. Give it a few days and the chain was freed up.
One thing I've realized here on the HAMB. If you ask five HAMB members their opinion on something you're most definitely going to get at least six opinions.. Larry
Did some trials with E10 fuel in a carb. Definitley helped keep the carb from the negative effects of the ethanol. I am surprised this is not in their sales pitch.
I believe it works as well as ATF in most cases. Not sure it works better. Oil and gas additive, air tool oil, penetrating oil, even hand cleaner and add to the parts washer fluids to help my hands. ATF, the original 'mechanic in a can'.
My friend added it to the airplane's 100LL gas as it was recommended by a friend with a fleet of airplanes. It reduced the lead fouling on the plugs significantly and the engine purred.
Laying pine flooring in a hallway, I was getting tired of smelling linseed oil. Went out to the shed, got a quart of MMO. It's my easiest floor for cleaning up dog messes.
It works well for , headaches , heartaches , stone aches , hemmorids , and hair on the face , it cures what ails “ya” !!!
When my brothers and I were kids, my Dad had an old two-stroke lawnmower, and he used to make us mow the lawn. We eventually figured out that if we put straight gas in it, the lawnmower would die and we wouldn't have to mow the lawn, then we could take off. He would free it up with MMO and finish the lawn. We got away with that trick a couple of times before he filled it with mixed gas himself and make us mow the lawn. Sort of related, but when I was stationed in the Philippines years ago, I had a beater Pontiac Lemans that stopped running because the fuel filter was plugged up (lots of silt in the gas). I was in my dress uniform and couldn't change the filter without getting dirty, but I did have a can of WD-40 that I used to fill the float bowl. Ran a little funky, but it got me home! It was also fond of bending pushrods on the #3 cylinder for some reason; I finally gave up and removed the spark plug and pushrods, and it ran on seven cylinders the rest of the time I had it.
