Does anyone have or know where to find any under construction pics of any Larry Braga, sectioned cowl Model A builds? I LOVE how sneaky he makes them but am curious about the HOW...

Aren't those Larry Braga builds for Dan Zank? Did Larry own them at one time?

Just wondering where he cuts the cowl and if he tapers it or what...

Those are all trade secrets and now a days guarded by a p***el of grand and great grand kids. Larry is not a computer follower, I’ll get hold of him and see if there are any build pics. The basic twin to Danny’s roadster was drug out of storage and brought from its home to the Roadster Show two years ago, Danny’s roadster is doing well and the delivery is in a quiet location as well.

You're right Larry did build both for Dan Zink and Larry did own the delivery for awhile and it changed hands several times times the last few years. Not sure if Larry ever owned the roadster?

When that roadster was built Larry’s phone was attached to the wall and didn’t take pics. I picked his brain this morning after coffee. On Danny’s roadster the lower edge of the gas tank outer skin was shortened 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch along the bottom edge, (it was a long time ago) then weld the bolt on strip back in place (at this time the firewall has been removed). Then drill out the rivets that hold the upper dash rail between the windshield posts and lower it down to the top of the gas tank and reattach. You will need to fill the corners of your windshield posts where the gas tank used to be. At this time you can cut and lay the posts back if you want. A stock hood top will need to be trimmed to fit along with the the grill shell. This method, as you can see in the picture, keeps all the stock lines in place.

G****'s article on Zank's roadster in TRJ #7 shows the cut lines. Pat also describes the process similar to what @dln1949 provided. I'm planning the same mods for my '29 roadster
