Made it to the hotel. Maple Grove was on the way, so we stopped by to complete today's drive. Beautiful country out here....
I have no idea what tomorrow holds, the weather is threatening rain most of the day.. Today's data log.
It's hard to say. I had lost one of the springs I had on the exhaust flapper, and it was making some extra noise on the drives, but I got a new spring and that part is quiet now. I get hyper sensitive to little changes in how the car sounds, etc, and it really seems to be doing just fine. I don't know for sure if it was misfiring before, it could have been...but it seems to be working great overall. I'm just not quite used to it yet! it's still pretty new.
Having lived with those old Yellow wires, being a smog tech and having to tune thousands of cars, a plug wire like that will start out jumping only under high load, not idle or light load. Highway will get hot too, but it's when cylinder pressure gets high that the spark decides the pipe is an easier jump. You could have the Missus power brake it in gear and load it, looking/listening for spark before a run. Not exactly a full test, but better than nothing. Hope you both have a great, safe time.
thanks I'm just not going to worry about it right now...we get to deal with on/off rain today, so that will keep me busy. Looks like it will start about the time we're supposed to start racing, then let up for a few hours, then start up again. So it's not likely that every car will get to make a pass, which means that no one has to turn in a time slip, and the day does not get averaged into the times for each car.
??? Friday is calling for mid to upper 80s and sunny here in Southern MD. Rain should end tomorrow by midday, so I expect Friday should be GTG. Only caveat is that I DO have my own personal black cloud that follows me around... I'm close enough to MIR to FEEL some of the cars, lol.
It was fun meeting Amishmike today. We got into some rain, first time in this car. It did fine. The wipers work, and it doesn't leak much.
Is that the Vette that went 8.36 on all motor, SBC? That thing was FLYING! Good luck and safe travels!
C = Consistent. H = High. E = Energy. E = Exceptional. P = Performance ! Bravo @squirrel , Simply magnificent !
Five over? That's a ticket! Carry on, Jim. We are following the progress just like you did with Cat and others.
