I have a Lincoln Pro-Cut 60 that I have been using for 15 years at least. It is a big, bulky workhorse that has served me well. I am now having difficulty getting consumables for it. I am seeing a lot of videos on the web for the Arccaptain cutters and was wonderimng if anyone has tried them. I don't do anything over 3/8" these days . Thank you.
Buy a nice inventory of consumables just in case. I use a Viper Plasma Cutter, no expensive, works great.
I recently bought a Arccaptain and bought the extra consumables package.. Very happy with it. Using it to cut apart A/C compressors and other than grinding a good ground spot it cuts through the cases just fine. I am using the 120 plug in. I also understand it is a cheap tool that may fail at any moment but it's twice as fast as a 4 1/2 cut off disc
I have a Lincoln too, I buy them on ebay. They are Chinese and cheap. They work good and it keeps my Lincoln going and working so I'm fine with that ! ..
I have had my Lincoln Pro Cut 25 for 20+ years & it has always done what I wanted it to do, but seeing your comment about not being able to get consumables is troubling. I don't use mine as much as some do, but don't want to be without the ability to use it either. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
I have a Hypertherm that I bought probably 10 years ago and its a nice machine, but they aren't cheap. I recently sold my Miller Dynasty DX200 TIG. I paid $2974 for it, and by the time I got the foot pedal, water cooled torch, etc I had about $4K in it. Made my own cart and cooler. That was 2012. No problems with it during that time, but I was concerned about repair costs and availability if anything did happen, and I wanted more than 200 AMPS now. So I sold it this year (2025) for $4k. So 13 years of use and pretty much broke even. I'm telling this story because buying a quality welder (Plasma Cutter) may have less overall cost involved than picking the wrong cheap one. Now, after saying that...............I bought a PRIMEWELD Tig 325 for a replacement. They cost $1350 and have a 3 year warranty. If it fails, I'm still ahead, but they seem to have excellent customer service and a website for enthusiasts. My son has a 225 from them. So my point here is that I would give Primewelds Plasma cutters a look/see and check out the website . Think they have 28,000 people on it. https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=primeweld equipment users group
