"The 392 Hemi is out of a '58 Chrysler New Yorker. We tend to forget just how much cast-iron was in those old Hemis. With a Turbo 400 and a 1,800rpm-stall torque converter, Powell's engine, trans, and 4WD transfer case weighs around 1,000 pounds. The 392 Hemi has 10.5:1 compression and uses a 0.490-lift hydraulic cam operating stainless steel valves. The aluminum intake manifold is the only substantial part on this engine that's not cast-iron. The current two Edelbrock carbs will soon be replaced with two 600 Holleys".

Sounds like a hot rod to me!

When I was a kid, my dad drug our family off fishing every weekend, Friday night through Sunday afternoon. It bored me to death. As soon as I got a drivers license and a job, I had to miss out on the fishing weekends, so I could go to work. Darned.

My 49 has a trailer hitch on it. I suppose I could pull a boat on a trailer with it and go fishing if I wanted to, but why would I ever want to do that?

Now, my oldest grand son would hook a boat trailer on my 49 in a heart beat, so he could go fishing. Maybe he can do that after I'm dead.

I love to go fishing. Catching, not so much. It takes away from the beer drinking.

Growing up in northern California we all had hot rods. I have my 38 Dodge coupe' and a 56 Chevy. Both went fishing and hunting. I always had a 22 and a shotgun , fly rod and saltwater pole in those cars. Good times.

Give an Aussie a fish and he will eat for a day.

Grandpa said he and his buddies used to drive their model T's out on the frozen lake, dig a hole, park the car over the hole and pull up the floorboards to go ice fishing.
