The chassis for the Original Paint Coupe - see post 1186 - is almost ready for the body. It is coming together! Motor is a 1962 327 Chev backed by a turbo 350 trans and a 1957 Ford nine inch rear axle. 20250628_103330.jpg

Well, I'm joining this thread. I've been trying to sell this project for over a year, you all have probably seen it in the classifieds. I not good at threads so I'll just post here as I progress, 1164.jpeg Part_1 (11).jpeg Part_1 (10).jpeg IMG_20220404_173018905_HDR.jpg IMG_20220404_173155391_HDR.jpg IMG_20220404_164238632_HDR.jpg IMG_20220404_165452067_HDR.jpg IMG_20220404_170234931.jpg IMG_20220404_180124106_HDR.jpg

That is definitely enough of a car to sit in and make vroom vroom noises. The cowl and doors are niiiice. How's the rest of it?

The front roof parts are from a sedan and they came with the cowl. The rear part of the roof will be made up of a combination or 34 and 36 pieces. Piecing the roof together and chopping it 5" will be the challenge.

I went to Missouri and drug this little car home. She is WAY better than the junk I usually drag home.

Came with a nice frame that had to lopped off to make the trip. Came with some stuff too. I like stuff.

And, there you go. She has two ahead of her, but she said she could wait.

Well, that sure is a nice body, but...I can't imagine cutting the frame off as the best option to get it all home

I went to a friend's today to louver my deck lid. For my first try I think it came out pretty good. Another piece of the puzzle. thumbnail - 2025-07-17T192150.189.jpg thumbnail - 2025-07-17T192123.347.jpg

Follow up from post #1201 - body going on the chassis. Over to Dan's shop for wiring and then it comes back to my place for completion. 20250712_122754.jpg

I've got a little more done. I used the front part of 35-36 pu door tops, reversed side for side to make the slanted part of the rear of the 34 door. I don't know how much it's chopped, just eyeballed it where I liked it. I'm using a fordor top for the top. More slicing and dicing to continue. thumbnail (3).jpg thumbnail (2).jpg thumbnail (16).jpg thumbnail (18).jpg thumbnail (11).jpg thumbnail (10).jpg thumbnail (9).jpg thumbnail (15).jpg thumbnail (14).jpg thumbnail (12).jpg thumbnail (25).jpg thumbnail (23).jpg thumbnail (22).jpg thumbnail (21).jpg

I'm loving all of these detail shots. I actually bought a rough 35/36 cab with doors just in case I would need those pieces, nice to see how they fit together.

That is super bitchn' so far. You are definitely in the middle of the hard part, but I am confident you can get it handled.

Don't forget to start a build thread.

After working on the top today, I chopped the rear window 5" and lowered it about an inch. I think the door window will have to go down another inch. I've also considered doing the front post as shone in an old Hot Rod magazine article. Will see if I have any usable parts left after I get farther along. 1962 327 with an RV cam, 350 turbo trans and 57 Ford nine inch rear on Chassis Engineering parallel leaf springs. The engine and trans were previously in another 34 Ford coupe owned by a friend.
