Hi, I have a Black and Decker 11/16" super-service valve refacer that I am trying to replace the valve grinding stone. Is there a way to lock the wheel to get the center allen bolt loose? The bolt is tight and the wheel turns when I try to loosen it. Thanks!!
Thanks, well I could do that.. if nothing else works. It is kind of a small allen bolt wrench and would hate to round it out.
My Buddy had an old Black and Decker valve machine that I used more than he did but I never changed the stone on it. I'm not finding much of anything online that tells either.
Mine has a heavy woven fabric strap with a cast handle, you could try a piece of serpentine fan belt with a vise grip pliers. My setup doesn't use the Allen, but the belt trick may help.
Thanks, I will try the belt trick. I tried turning it both ways.. it is just frozen and I can't get any torque on it. I think it has been on for a while..
Got it, thanks guys!! used a timing belt on the wheel with vice grips to hold it.. turns out the bolt is righty loosey, lefty tighty!! ha. Have to keep my head around that!! thanks again for the ideas
