Remember the Pete & Jakes 32 sedan? Fenderless with a full hood. Anyway that's the color and finish I am going for. No on the orange frame!!

I always loved the R&M lacquer red oxide from the 70s-80s, seems it had more brown in it instead of red.[IMG]
    That's the stuff!

    Couldn't you fill by
    1. put lube in can, raise above fill port.
    2. When full, lower can to allow excess to drain back into it.
    3. Empty can into jug.
No removal of hose, just up, down and drain. Care in doing would be no mess, and only the can bracket is messed with. Make it a solid quick release can for the QC rear !

Just need to fab up or buy a drain pan when you quick change that can be poured into the can.

Sure could, but this way it's main objective is not to blow the seals out of the rear. Just happens to make the servicing a tad easier. It's a messy job either way!

I had a 17" line from the fill port up to the body connected to a breather mounted above and aft of the rear. First time out it filled the breather element with gear oil. So now I'll try this set up. If this doesn't work I guess I will pull an axle tube, drill it, tap it, clean it out and shove in the correct breather. I think the fill port is a lousy place for a vent. Time will tell.

Mocking up the door windows using stock 32 Ford pieces, I realized I was missing a flange on the front part of the window opening. I think Ford used the 30-31 window system, explaining why the front fuxzies are twice as wide as the back post fuxzies. So I laid up a piece cut it to fit, and glassed it in. So far so good. Driver's door hung and rough body work complete. Time to change oil, 20 miles in one year. I will be able to increase the mileage next year. Got 10W30 wt synthetic Pennzoil. I have been using Pennzoil since 1965. PXL_20251013_175301914.jpg
