Detroit Diesel 8V-71 blowers were rare to see, never knew Marvin Schwartz tried one.

 

Only others I recall using those 8V-71's.

Yes, those cars were run by Lipori and Malise, the f/c was billed as the World’s only Buick powered funny.

 

A Long Time Ago! West Hampton

 

Dad ran the 8-71's as early as 1964-5 with the blown Wedge Comp dragster and had them on all the Top Gas dragsters through 1970 and of course Ingenue in 1967.

 

This car is restored. I had the honor of making some parade laps around the pits at dragway 42 where the car first day viewed.

No, just Don Roberts in Jack Doyle’s top gas car with Bob Schneider’s fuel motor from 1969, and fast forward to November 2024 Nitro Revival where I spent time in John Neas’ Tom Ivo car and John Lipori’s Billy Lynch car.

Edgewater is in Cleves, Ohio in the Greater Cincinnati area. Great track, spent a lot of Saturday nights there.
