i'm trying to figure this thing out . i'm told i won't feel shift 1 into 2 . 2 into 3 seems obvious at 25/30 mph . then no noticable shift into 4 . but at 60 mph i'm running at 2300 rpm . doesn't seem so bad . i havn't gone any faster yet . but i have kicked it down at 55/60 mph . there is no obvious downshift like a modern trans. would have . but it has lots of power when i hit the gas . and manual shift between 3 and 4 seems to do nothing .
i've played with the throttle rod longer and shorter with little noticable effect .

Is that a hydro with the R, L, S, D, N? If so you may be is S or super and not drive.

There are several Hydramatic web sites on here. Also : Either get a manual for your car(Look on line) or just the Hydramatic manual(Available from another site on the HAMB). DON'T KEEP SCREWING AROUND ADJUSTING IT BY EAR : YOU CAN REALLY MESS IT UP!!

also , i'm not doing it by ear . i'm using a tach and watching for a drop or rise in rpm's to indicate a shift .
