I have a vintage Silver Beauty Model 206 battery charger which is wired incorrectly. I cannot find a wiring diagram for this particular model online after many searches. I need to know where the power cables go as well as the positive/negative cable. If you have one (its come to this for me) could you open it up and make a simple wiring diagram of those cables referencing the transformer. Thank you
I’ll go out on a limb here. I’d assume the 120v goes into the input side of the transformer. There might be a rectifier out of the transformer, I’d (again on a limb) would think that’s where the cables go. But I’ve never had a battery charger apart, so I don’t know what switches one from 6 to 12 volts output. Good luck!
Most likely a tap on the secondary windings of the transformer. There should be two outputs from the transformer to the 6/12 switch and one output to the rectifier.
I did say I was “out on a limb”. But I’m guessing if the OP can find a schematic of a same era charger, it may be similar, ie Marquette, etc.
How about taking the back off and posting a picture of the inside? That may get some better replies from the electrical experts on board here.
Thank you BJR, excellent idea, here they are, hoping for the best. I know little about transformers but I can solder.
I just so happened to pick one up yesterday so I will go ahead and pour it apart if you would like or you haven’t resolved your problem yet and take some photos
The first image is where the negative goes to. The third image is where the positive ends up on the backside of that breaker
Thank you very much. I see some things that need to be checked on my end. Where do the leads go to charge a battery? I'm thinking of making a drawing, which I'll publish here, and you can see if my wiring is correct or if I need to make some changes. Thanks again
OK, I know, I forgot to include the drawing I made. Getting old and keeping up is getting harder, here it is.
