45 years as a Journeyman Modelmaker I made a lot of doodles to take my mind off the job at hand. Here are a few that I somehow hung on to. IMG_2686.jpeg IMG_2687.jpeg IMG_2688.jpeg IMG_2690.jpeg IMG_2691.jpeg IMG_2689.jpeg

Just wondering, why are you bumping a thread that is pinned to the top?

Because there is another pinned there as well and and if posts are made in both they bump each other back and forth 1 and 2.

Jeff’s Art Show has been there for a long time and we just created a new 52 - 59 Ford Owners section. Art show rules …..

Hey Rusty, nice job for a first attempt!
Drawing black/dark colored cars is hard! It's a study and exercise in interpreting reflection on curved surfaces and rendering it into an image that the viewer recognizes as plausible...a couple of rendering styles on the same car...Hope this is some help...keep up the good work.

An art project from last Spring was the impetus for the new design that started this Summer.

    Hello,

When my wife and I were in our early 20s, we wanted a hot rod of sorts. So, our search took us all over So Cal to see what was advertised in the local papers and free community flyers. One of those stops was a nice black 1950 Ford Coupe sitting in a aromatic garage. (All black, light color mohair type interior and a flathead motor with three carbs.) It had stock black rims and small round center hubcaps. Standard height and stance was how we saw it in the owner’s garage.

So, with that experience in mind, the art project started. No, we did not buy it as my wife got a weird vibe off of the garage and the owner. We left without a new project. But, over time and a newly found 327 powered 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery that we found at a small shop in Santa Ana, our adventure began together.

The old drawing of the 1950 Ford always popped up in my art files and gave me a new direction of a futuristic build.

A custom Nomad style Station Wagon to allow us to cruise and have a secure place to store stuff we bought in the back. Also, to allow us to have a nice place to sleep, protected from the elements. Ever sleep in the back of an 65 El Camino out in the open? As dreamy as it sounds and looked, we watched the stars sprinkle and glow at night. But, in the morning, we were drenched with moisture from the night time dew. Not the most pleasurable way to sleep.

A slightly chopped, lowered, made into a sedan delivery… and more privacy on our many road trips all over the California coastline adventures. An idea still burning in our older times… YRMV

    Legitimate question,...
about 2 days to layout, 2 days to color and finalize.....
The issue comes when clients want changes and add the expertise into the mix.
then its up in the air

But that's life in my world.
