I think you have a serious weight advantage over Lloyd. It will be interesting to see what happens.

  3. Fingers crossed Guys!

Stubby is all back together, but would NOT run late yesterday & today is my last chance to get it figured out, because if I don't fix it today I will not be able to take it to London, Ky for the Gasser race & my Buddy @Lloyd's paint & glass will win our match race by default!:(

Over the last two days I added the safety stuff (driveshaft safety loop, 5 point harness & new helmet) so there are going to be no issues if & when I get to the track! I like the change from Green to Purple & feel like it is more my car now....Just got to get it to run! LOL

    God Bless

Looks amazing brother! You even made the poster. IMG_20250703_092209.png

  6. Absolutely No Excuses....I did not get Stubby to run right for the Gasser Race & I am sure it will turn out to be something that any other time would have been caught right away.

I drove the 6 1/2 hours each way to be there to support & be with friends anyway. Also made sure to introduce myself to the promoter Herman & his wife Laura with apologies for not having the car there to participate after all the hype on FB, the poster, Etc

  10. I just found out that the Blue Suede Cruise at Summit Motorsport Park (Norwalk to most of us) July25th-27th has for the 1st time added a Gasser Race Event & I happen to be off the road this coming week, so I get a reprieve after not getting Stubby fixed in time for the event in London, Ky over the 4th of July weekend.

Going to be in the shop working on him to fix what is wrong starting Mon day & go Friday. There are 2 qualifying passes on Friday, one early Saturday & then race later Saturday. Fingers crossed after all...It's Just a Small Block!:p

  11. In keeping with the Purple/Blue changeover......

Guy Snyder - local Pinstripe Artist cam over today, brought his Friend & Mentor Mike Kirk (well know pinstripe artist) along with him & did the color upgrades for me.....I love the finished product so much more than the white/red. The blue really pops!

While he was here I had him put a message on the back of the trailer for all the Morons that can't figure out not to tailgate it.

Did you figure out the running issue?

  16. I knew someone would ask! LOL

Partially, as always being by yourself in the shop poses issues, but gonna have Dad come over tomorrow & turn the key on & off for me, etc. Would have been a lot further along had I not put the scoop on the carbs before 1st start up. Never touched the carbs, yet had fuel blowing out of the rear vent tube on the front carb. Replaced needle & seat as well as the float. Strange that it looked like a section of the float was missing & if you rub your finger on that area of it, felt like granules coming off!
Was only able to spend a few minutes on it after putting that carb back on.

That looks like someone has cut a piece out of that float!

  18. Yes now that you mentioned it, it does! Pretty dumb idea, because what is left is a rough surface that tiny pieces can come off of & "gum up the works". If I end up pulling both carbs off again, I will pull the back bowl off the other on just to see if it looks the same.

Thanks Steve & Andy! Looking forward to seeing you guys soon!

Yep, still piddling with my ''new'' trailer. Been buying goodies and fitting it out. Can't wait to see your new one.

  20. Finally Stubby is Alive & Well Again!

I just drove him 12 miles route trip to get fuel with no issues. I am very happy to be able to take him to Lloydfest III this weekend. I would have gone regardless, but would have been depressed to drive one of my everydays.

Carbs are not quite perfect yet, but good enough to drive it on the Poker Run Saturday at Lloydfest. It will be Laura's 1st Poker Run & that makes it fun for me.

    But the real question is…

Are you gonna show tail lights to that guy with the ‘55 wagon?
Forget his name, maybe you know who I’m speaking of? ;)

  24. @Sharpone ...Sorry you are not going to make it this year! I know Gary & Mary come down from your area, hopefully you could rally down with them next year!

@Budget36 I am going easy on the guy with the "55 wagon" today, as I know he will be thrashing to change that cam AGAIN tomorrow! I know how deflating doing stuff more than once is. Eventually though we WILL have our match race, we will have a blast & I plan on winning unless I break the Wheelie Bars on Launch. :p:eek:

Bill, I'm glad you've got it sorted out. You sounded ready to flip out on the phone yesterday!
You guys can baby your cars. I'm gonna stand on mine a bit!

Good, Good looking forward to seeing Stubby, and you and wifey too, Bill.

  28. Hey Folks,

Had a GREAT time at Lloydfest III & Stubby won the "That's Cool As Hell" Award!

Day before yesterday I took Stubby to the Grace Church Cruise in Middleburg Heights, Oh, that is 100 mile round trip! We are blessed in the Northern Ohio/Cleveland area to have cruises every night of the week & lots of shows on the weekends. This one on Thursday Nights is one of the top weekly cruises in Ohio consistently every year with around 400 cars each time. Going to try to do a small show tomorrow morning in Wellington, Oh as it may be my last of the year. Two "round trips of the country" transporting over the next 3-4 weeks will put m e to the point where the cruises & shows will be done for this year.

    God Bless

  29. I did end up going to the small show in Wellington, Oh at a retirement home Sunday the 21st. I like shows at the retirement homes as the volunteers bring out the residents to see the cars & you can see their eyes brighten up as their memories of the old cars come back & many of them comment about having something similar when they were younger. It is a good feeling giving them that!

Stubby won "Best Engine" but truth be told there was only about 40 cars there:p.

I fell in love with a 65 Comet Conv that won "Best Paint" (I voted for it). It doesn't show in the pictures, but the color & metal flake was beautiful!

The Chevy Truck with the custom trailer won "Best Of Show"

It was a nice relaxing few hours before I started out on a 9 day 7400 mile trip.

    God Bless
