Another Aussie Model Y roadster; different to the B/W one in previous post; the B/W one is better looking, I think.

 

Aussie Model Y Phaeton. Two are known to exist. Strapped to the front bumper of this car is what looks like the main leaf from a spring, and a shovel. In the back seat is what could be a rolled up canvas tent, with the tent poles attached to the right side of the car, so the driver (RHD) would have had to get in through the left door. Spotlight on the right side windscreen post. Water bag on the running board. Was he going on a long trip to the goldfields of WA, or has he just come back? I wonder what the labels on the windscreen could have told us. He has a self-assured look about him; a member of the Police? [State Library of Western Australia]

My new toy. 5 window coupe, rumble seat, factory stock down to the aluminum heads and mechanical brakes. Been sleeping for a very long time, going to wake her up over the winter and be ready to go in the spring I hope.
