Projects 1930 Ford roadster question

    I picked up this 30 roadster off a buddy to help him out. Now its ***********. On top of all the other issues with this body (one of which im pretty sure it was on fire at some point), while tearing apart the cowl, I noticed these cuts on the uprights that hold the windshield stantions. I dont know much about these open cars or how they were built. Both sides seem to have the same cut. I do know that they seem to be tweaked. 20251003_223409.jpg 20251003_223423.jpg

    They are for the door hinges

    I’m no expert either, but they are so uneven that they look like like separate pieces, not a cut line.

    Yeah, someone did some hacking on those...

    Looks like someone cut them off because they are in bad shape. You usually drill the rivets out to replace them with good used ones or repops. Hope the rest of the body doesn't look like that.
