MACH X MUSTANG

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by Crazy Steve, Oct 4, 2025.

  1. I know, I know, late model stuff is frowned on here, but this semi-rebodied late 'stang morphed into a '69 Mach 1 is a real beauty. There's been various similar attempts done on other cars but this is the nicest one I've seen... This isn't some 'updated' artist's rendering obviously based on some later model but a real one that makes you do a doubletake. 2012 Ford Mach X Mustang: A Fusion of Classic Style and Modern Performance

Of all of the pre-Mustang 2 cars, the '69 was far and away my personal favorite. This car does it justice IMO...

I’m not really a Mustang guy but that example is outstanding. The builder did it right, even the choice of wheels is right on. Well done!

I briefly had a 67 390 GTA, so I’ve always had a soft spot for earlier Mustangs. Not enough to buy another one though. That one is really cool, and really nicely done. The right combinations of skill and style.

I'm reminded of those shoebox/T bird's, but I like this much better! Color and wheels pull it off.....

  6. The thing that separates this one from his others is he resisted the urge to 'smooth' and monochrome the car ala' modern cars. Nearly all of the original trim is there; the hood pins, grill, taillights, bumpers, side marker lights, scripts/emblems and especially the door handles. The only thing obviously missing is the bright trim around the glass. The subtle reshaping of the body made it look even more 'muscular' and a bit sinister looking than the original while retaining all of the '69 styling cues. The only nit I'll pick is the lower valance below the rear bumper hangs down a bit too low. Raise that up an inch or two and I'd call it perfect! If I had the money, I'd be knocking on his door...
