Is'nt there a reproduction /aftermarket button manufactured by some of the many companies out there???
Here's some starter buttons that may work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0868JN4FZ/?tag=atomicindus08-20
Dennis Carpenter has them. HRP $8.75 EA. Features: • Complete Switch • "START"Engraved on Bezel • Bright Metal Button • Includes Contacts and Retainers Toll Free Order Line: 1‑800‑476‑9653
The stock switch is a 1 wire grounding unit. He is looking for a 2 wire switch that he can use to send 12v + to a solenoid (at least that is what I guessed based on his post) If this is true and if it were me, I would use the factory switch to complete the circuit (ground) to a relay and have the relay send the 12v+ to the solenoid
They do make a 3 wire 12 volt solenoid that uses ground to trigger it. Just gotta look at the diagram, as some 3 wire ones are not ground activated.
Standard Ignition SSB1, but I would do like @Moriarity said. Use a insulated base solenoid (like a Standard Ignition SS-587) and use the stock button to activate the solenoid. SS-587 is 12v SS-558 is 6v
