$175k...I emptied all of my pockets, but didn't find enough money for me to drive it home! IMG_20251007_141122113_HDR.jpg

Right, I stand corrected-can't rely on an old age memory any more! I would have bought it but have a policy of not buying cars without titles!

Crossing back into Canada, border agent asked me if I had anything to declare. Said I had about US$700 worth of car parts. Asked me if I had receipts. I said no. He asked me why I didn’t have any. I said maybe he should ask the vendors. lol!
Well, got a lecture for what seemed forever. Told him sorry, said next time I would get some, then he let me go. Haha!

  7. Learned that a long time ago, get some sort of receipt for presentation at the border. @Ziggster, glad it worked out.

If you’re referring to the Nash, while taking a break at one of picnic tables near North Chocolate Field, a husband and wife sat down across from me. Turns out he was a Nash collector from Louisville, KY. Chatted for about 20 mins. Said he was going to use one from his collection to teach kids auto mechanics. Met the most wonderful people at Hershey, which as much fun as the search for parts.

If you're not crossing an international border that's really understandably no big deal and also a reason to really check the item out you're buying.

That's what I thought but a 3 rib version...seems there were some similar to Brizio's in 3 rib some for VWs and off brands...

I don't see 3 rib at their site...

That Mercer is a rare car for sure, but the number of people still alive that would be willing to pay that much for it is dwindling raapidly by the day.

Returned home tonight. Hershey did not disappoint. I pretty much sold everything I bought with the exception of maybe a few nickel dime pieces.
Found what I was looking for and overall had a great week. Having trouble loading more photos. Will try again later.

    Here’s the Thursday wrap up:

    IMG_5870.jpeg IMG_5869.jpeg IMG_5867.jpeg IMG_5866.jpeg IMG_5864.jpeg IMG_5863.jpeg IMG_5872.jpeg IMG_5873.jpeg IMG_5875.jpeg IMG_5876.jpeg

    IMG_5877.jpeg
And it all ends with the Hershey Hauler and driver home, safe and sound.
Already looking forward to next year and reconnecting with the many nice people engaged in our hobby. Mixing up with the many people make this a great event!

That 34 roadster? or is it a mix of 33, probably did double duty in that config...

    That Rolls sure had presence...

That Rolls was very impressive. Was looking at a V12 Packard when two older gentlemen dropped by. Had a few questions for them about the engine. There was a valve/petcock with a small bowl on the head over each cylinder. Asked them what it was. Thought it might be some pre-oiler setup. Nope. Was to add a bit of fuel to help get it started when cold outside. Then there was this little aluminum coloured hollow sphere with holes all over it in the centre of the engine. Asked again what it was, and he said it was the air intake! I asked if there any air filter, and he says no! I think they said it was a 1920 model year. Crazy! I should have taken some pics.

pic on the interweebs of the engine.

Even the Goodyear blimp made HERSHEY, it circled the field twice Thursday afternoon!

  27. Mark, that was my roadster. I gave it to my son, and he was taking the roadster to his home in New Hampshire.
