So 2 years ago I was fortunate to go and rescue the ‘32 2-door. At that time I told the old gentleman that my goal was to bring the car back and take him for a ride. He had owned it for 49 years, and had never seen it as a running, driving car. But it had been his dream that whole time. So on Monday my son and I made the trip back and showed him his car. He was completely blown away. When I made that old Hemi bark, he just laughed! We had a fantastic day, and what a great feeling it was! I am so glad I was able to do this!
Good for you and your son. I can somewhat relate to the lifelong vision that may not happen several times over. At least mine are all inside where I visit them daily. It looks like he and I could be family. Never lose the Dream and never Tap Out. Congratulations! Well done.
A great milestone @Olcars and a really nice gesture he'll never forget...did he go for a ride in it with you?
Good on you and your son. Taught your son a really good life lesson, on how good it feels making someone else happy.
Since we are all so good at spending other people's money, may I offer something that would make that young man's day (and more)? Assemble a few before and afters or just one big one of him and the done car. A poster in a frame would probably be under 50 bucks. https://photos3.walmart.com/about/posters#
My shop walls have a lot of Customers cars hanging on them, None of my own. This post has me considering a little different solution at 78 years young to some of my stalled projects. But just considering! Hemi's need to Run, not just look grate!
This is one of those threads where I wish I could hit the "like" button several more times! Super! Dave
