I do stupid stuff. Maybe somebody would like to see it. I had a perfect 32 frame and wanted to use a 57 Chevy 3 speed. The levers were in the same place as the pedals. I made an offset pedal bracket to move them over. I used 40-48; pedal arms and clutch linkage. It is really tight but has worked fine. I had to cut a couple of holes for the brake push rod but used the original mounting holes for the pedal bracket. I had to weld on a mount for the master cylinder. What you guys think? I used the little Chevy trans because it is short and did not require cutting the frame. That mess behind the K member is a bolt on torque box with legs to rear of the frame. It tremendously stiffened the frame. All original bolt holes used.
I’ve got an old Clymer book that shows their process of narrowing the pedals and box for more room in the area. But, IIRC, the reason was to use a 40-48 Ford box and column shift. They basically shaved some off each side of each pedal, and sliced a strip from the middle of the box.
I like the master cylinder with easy to remove bolt. No bales to pry loose. Bales under the floor usually bring blood
