Anything fun or cool to see car-wise in the Los Angeles area the last week of October? Any good cars and coffee or shows? Anything in Santa Monica? Anything old cars, trucks, tractors? Have done the Petersen and Nethercutt before. Any local advice for my visit would be much appreciated!

LA area is big...depending from when and where you leave, about 2-4 hour drive.

Lions dragstrip museum is fantastic place to visit. Great cars in very impressive display areas.

    Hello,

Having arrived at LAX, you are in a great part of the vast coastline. So, despite the places mentioned, drive whatever you have rented as a vehicle and take a drive up the coast to Santa Barbara and see the ocean/coastline for the best day time drive. Stay in Santa Barbara (when we stayed in Santa Barbara, we went to the Kimpton, Goleta ), just enjoy State Street and the myriad of great dining places along the street.

The “Leta Santa Barbara Goleta, Tapestry Collection by Hilton” Recently, the name of the resort in Goleta was renamed to “The Leta.” When we stayed there many times during our coastal travels, it was called the Kimpton Goodland Goleta. (Now, it is shortened to attract “cool” travelers in this region.) It is close to more restaurants and things to do along the coastline. A night’s stay, visiting/shopping on State Street and a nice lunch on the Stearns Wharf Pier make a great day of the area harbor region.

Sure, there are fancy resorts along the harbor drive, but the drive is nicer than the resorts and the Kimpton is reasonable, comfortable and set up like a great hotel should be for travelers. Enjoy your stay…

A fairly secret place called Hendry’s Beach. Great food and out of the way, location

Since the whole coastline is one of a kind, driving it is more enjoyable than going to a hot rod/drag race event, sitting in the hot sun, noise, and weather. BTDT…

So Cal is outdoors along the coast and this is what to look forward to on your drive back into the Santa Monica/Venice/LAX area: YRMV

One of the best videos to showcase So Cal coastline from Santa Barbara to LAX.
