Technical 28 model A build.

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Jimalberta, Oct 18, 2025 at 6:00 PM.

  1. Howdy folks.
I am just getting going on building my first hot rod out of a 1928 model A tudor.
I am in the process of installing an independent rear suspension set up out of a 1990 cougar. It came with coil springs but Iam debating replacing the coil springs with airbags. Any tips or suggestions on doing that? Thanks in advance…..Jim

Since it's your first build I'd keep it simple and traditional, there's lots of information and parts available for a traditional build.

  3. The more traditional you go around this forum, the more you'll get advice and insight like a firehose.

Sorry, this isn’t the site for modern IRS stuff. But we would help a ton if you used a more traditional rear. Even a 9” Ford is fine, and we can help you make it ride as smoothly as the monkey motion rear, with way less headaches.
