Wow!! Now that's a collection of fine art!! That '56 Convertible is great! It seems that I remember seeing that green '55 years ago? Glad to finally see the front of the '61. I was even more glad to see that California Custom tube grille in it! The Corvette is built perfectly! And don't get me started on the Zinger '57!!

thanks, the green 55 was built by the A bros in 1964. the Blue 55 was built by Paul Savelesky in 1961 and the 56 conv was Ron Hing's and was built in 1964. The 57 isn't a zinger, it is a full size version of the deals wheels model kit that Revell had built back in 1970. you can read about my collection of stuff here:

I'm no expert but I think my favorite car at the GNRS had Lee's. The 54 210 hardtop custom in the suede palace?

I believe that is the "party doll" 55? Pontiac custom. No, those are not Lee lenses

So I was watching a vid about a guy that just bought this old 58 ford race car. and as the vis swung to the rear.. the old hulk had Lee Lenses... which I thought was pretty cool...... and I am sure today...very hard to find.

Cool, I never thought to look for them on eBay. I’ve been thinking about molding some myself. I’d have to go back through the thread to see if that was covered here, but the time is in setting up the mold once that’s done you just sandwich in the piece of plexigl***, heat it up, and shoot air pressure to it.

  16. With all the technology available today I'm surprised these Lee lenses haven't been reproduced.

based on the instructions this is for a non Rally Sport car, with the backup light stuff. Then your removing the chrome housing fully it seems like. You would need to then seal the lens to the body, otherwise water will leak into the trunk, the bezels have a gasket from the factory and I know they leak when they fail.

Yes those are the Lees that were made in the eighties and nineties. They are different because of the acrylic that was used has diamonds molded into the backside so they will refract light. They worked much better for visibility than the originals. I think that it was a different company making them but they used the Lee name ( I am not 100% sure of that)

He did say the diamond pattern was molded in, I told him about using 4ft fluorescent light covers as the diffuser, he looked puzzled. Lol

    Great collections shown here.

Did they only make lenses for the 49 Ford, but none for the 49-51 Mercurys?

My 1963 lee catalog is pictured earlier in this thread. there are no 49-51 Merc lenses listed there... that doesn't mean they didn't make em... I have never seen any
