That'll be a high speed AI chase then with a disclaimer, " no classic cars were harmed in the making of this movie "
I just watched another 70s movie called The Seven-ups. Movie not so good, but the car chase was done by all the same guys from Bullitt. Great chase scenes. But you could see the brackets for camera mounting on the cars.
Big Citroëns were popular in Europe due to their smooth ride. The BBC had a number of DSs and, subsequently, CXs. https://becg.org.uk/2020/06/06/the-roving-eye/
French Connection and The 7-UPS. With stunt driving by Bill Hickman of Bullitt fame, another rabbit hole to go down!
This is an entirely different side of what true custom fabrication is and was and can be in regard to the fine art of capturing the action, long before blue and green screen and digital manipulation of the computer generated graphics ! These rigs are worthy of someone doing a very well orchestrated documentary on these machines, and the people that made them and that operated them! Buster would approve no doubt!
And this is the film made with the Fangio Camera car. It's a miracle that anyone of those guys survived.
Damn Denny..... That sounds like a challenge! Maybe we could make it happen. Currently the only one planned is early next year when @Lloyd's paint & glass will be chasing Stubby down the drag strip! LMAO By the way...This is a GREAT Thread! Enjoying the pictures of these. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
Taking this thread in a slightly different direction. Before Go-Pro's and other miniaturized cameras, this is what Test Engineers at the OE's and suppliers had to work with when trying to do even simple tasks like watching suspension dynamics in real time.
Bill, that sounds like a great movie. I can’t wait to see it! Will it be a documentary or a comedy? Aww, who cares I know it will be good!
