I loved seeing this one at the Gathering at the Roc. So many cool things about this '40.

As much as I loved it, however, it did remind me that while my junk will never be done to the level of perfection that this car has been built to. I drive the crap out of my stuff, and I get to enjoy time behind the wheel for miles of smiles, rather than worrying about keeping it detailed and pristine.

It reminds me that each of us have our place in the spectrum of hot rod guys. Some guys find great joy in building masterpieces of workmanship while I'm over here throwing crap together to make them mobile so I can go down the street with a stupid grin on my face.

 

Then there's those of us that build them as nice as we can, then drive the crap out of them. Crazy!
