A local guy around these parts is working on a 1954 Kaiser Darrin that has some pieces missing, one being the cable operated hood latch.

    picture for reference, not his…

The hood latch has a plate that mounts to the fiberglass shell (front end) and the latch mounts to that. The shown latch is from a picture he took of a restored one at Hershey. Given the lack of parts available for these cars, can anyone identify the hood latch as one used on another car as well? Trying to increase the odds in our favor here. Thanks!!

NOS '54 Henry J hood latch. Should be easy enough to modify this for what you want.

Mark is always a few days ahead of the rest of the world. That’s how he’s amassed such a great collection of cars and stuff.

The Frazer I took the latch from is almost a whole car yet, Let me know if there is anything else you need that may work from it

I was under the mistaken impression that Clark Kent drove one of these on the Superman tv show. In reality he had a 1953 Nash Healy roadster. both were cool cars in their own right

No problem, I’m sure he will change them out. Has a 283 in it so it’s not totally original. :D

I'm sure if the small block Chevy had been around when Dutch took possession of the unfinished cars he probably would have installed those instead of Cadillac engines.
