I'm easy, any 3 or 5 window that's chopped and channeled and fender less, that's powered by anything but a sbc or flathead! extra points if it has a caddy in it

There HE said it!!! That DAMN SHOW CAR CIRCUIT!!!! LOL..... I know my 32 had a MORE than 3 versions while on the show trail 56ish to 1968 and it has me STILL trying to figure out where to go back to.......

 

Of course! Now it all makes sense... it was that lucrative career path that let you afford all those cool cars!

 

This is my vote. Note the grille work in the shell, the custom apron, firewall treatment, engine, etc.

For me, you can't beat a '32 roadster WITH fenders. I think Henry put the curves in the right places on these old girls.

 

@1929rats , very cool car but front apron looks more like a scoop. Maybe it’s the low light playing tricks?

I think that was the idea when it was built. I wish I could put my hands on the info on this....I remember first reading about it in a magazine (I think hot rod deluxe) and if I remember right, the late Gene Winfield was involved with the car. >>>>>> replying to the posted theme of "customs", I loved how they "frenched" the grille within the shell. simple, Suttle, and very tasty. Chromed, dropped big axle to boot....everything about this one speaks to me.

I had posted a couple of my old photos with what I think are the two best 32 full fender roadsters around, then and now. They were daily drivers that were show quality and that to me is the sign of a great build. Not afraid to go on the road daily and still have the style and build to go to public presentations.

But, as much as I we do not like to follow roadsters without fenders on any street, there just is something that calls out an open roadster without fenders for a cruise down the coast. If we had this particular roadster in our small two car garage, it would fit easily. For those days that are extremely hot and sunny, there is the A/C built in. Yes, even along the coastline, it gets hot and the cool A/C comes in handy. Plus, a lot of our family and friends live inland and it gets really hot in the summer and early fall seasons.

It is the style of the open wheel roadster, but this one has the look from the old spoke wheel days with a great stance and power to move it along in traffic or just cruise along the big blue shoreline on a great sunny day. My wife likes roadsters, but prefers to be inside of a station wagon style vehicle. But, when we had the old 327 powered 40 Ford Sedan Delivery, it was hard to get her to not take it everyday for her driving needs. Ha!

So, this 32 roadster would have a place in our small two car garage, next to her small station wagon. Afterall, where would we put the large plants/trees/planter pots we buy at the nursery for our yards? YRMV

 

The black Ardun roadster with the aluminum scoop has Gene Winfield roots and Rob Ida restoration.

Nice car. The color though, just me or is it too new? Magnificent car, but the shiny penny look says Lexus to me.

I don't know Mark, never met him personally and only chatted briefly on his flip phone a time or two. After seeing his interest in the Golden Sahara and the eclectic collection in his living room, I am beginning to see why the Lil Coffin has his attention and respect. I'm not throwing in the towel, just beginning to understand his ideology.

I found this on line, other than the headlights pointed all over the shop, it has potential.

I can't say I like the "left hand low" chopper license plate mount, and I think it needs a hood n(to cover that radiator hose), but this checks a few boxes for me.

One must not be so selective in color names as this candy apple red paint job looks a like the most popular paint color on a modern Mazda as writer's have said on recent various articles on automotives. YRMV

The ***le of the thread is “BEST 32 FORD OF ALL TIME, LET's SEE EM…” so, it was picked as to the style of open wheel roadster versus a full fendered versions. It was the stance, the overall look and parts used in the photo. The color is not the normally used “colorful” category as yellows or reds. Even dark browns were frowned upon as the bright colors depicted “hot rods.” I had many a photo story rejected due to lack of color and so, it all depends on who is looking and how it fits the category.

To me, I do not want a flashy open wheel roadster for my wife and my weekly cruise along the So Cal coastal areas. But, something that gives us smiles and feel of the air circulating inside, (up to a point) on a sunny day is what open roadster cruises are emphasizing for us. if, only…

So, the choice is one we would like to see in our small garage, as it would fit the width requirements. Ha!

Color photographs of a tan or brown roadster or any hot rod is hard to take and blend in to the requirements of magazine photo spreads. This one was the most difficult to present, but it did get accepted.

The color background, the attraction of the building during the same era of the 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery… (40s war farmhouse) and a contrast of dirt to the green gr***, etc. It was not a red/yellow hot rod in the background, but it did not meet the editors pickiness in photos… That is until I presented this other photo that took some time to shoot at night, at a popular huge Newport Beach movie theater background location.

35mm Ektachrome color slide film... The last shot of the roll, then gently rolled back one frame and reshot at a different angle and distance. The result was a most unusual night shot using no flash, but the bright ceiling display lights of the movie theater entrance.

 

Simply Accomplished...

 

Yeah, I wasn't sure if that was even HAMB friendly enough to remain on the page. If it needs to go away, understood.
