I swiped this photo from George McDowell's carnut.com photos. This is Cal Tiefenaur's old '40 sedan at the '76 Tulsa Street Rod Nats.

(Fun fact, the wishbones and front spring in my coupe came out of this car after Cal put a Corvair IFS under it)

 

Pics of my Uncle Bob with his '40 convertible.
For those of you who don't know, my Uncle Bob is who hauled off my '40 coupe for a widow and passed it along to me back around 1971. He is also who bought the '40 stake truck I have, a few years later.

 

Uncle Bob looked like he could have been a character. What a great guy, I'm not sure you have told me about the back ground with the coupe and the stake bed. Very Kool, thanks for sharing...

Wonder where that car is now, and if it still is wearing the same paint. An updated stance with some narrower slots that fit under the fenders, and I would drive the snot out of it! ;-)
