I was at an auction a few years ago and I stopped bidding at $425. There was flathead block on it, but who knows what kind of condition it was in.
fathers day show saw a couple going for $1200.00 - one had an adapter for a fordomatic, the other came with a provision for a rear end. very nice pieces of hardware, but pricey
On 02/18/14 I just Purchased 1 of 2 KRW Engine Stand off of EBay From a Nice Guy Named Randy of Synder, Texas. It came From a Closed Ford Tractor Repair Shop in Big Springs,TX. He had Both Stands With 2 Tractor Engine adapters & Bases. The Other Guy was from Indiana, he got the One with the Valve Tray, & One Broken Wheel. I got the one without valve Tray, but a Good Base With Good Wheels! He had them Listed a Year ago & I just Missed them. He told me they were Sold to a Guy in Houston, But the Guy Didn't Follow up with the Purchase. So, I put that Idea into Motion. My Secret was eBay & H.A.M.B. I put it on a Watch List & at 01:14 A.M. I awoke by the alarm to it on EBay! I paid $450.00 & $180.00 in Diesel Fuel, left At 04:00 A.M. Got to synder,Tx. @ 09:00 A.M. Made 3 Stops on the Way. Total Round Trip Traveled was 745 Miles. Speed Limit was 75 MPH, I Drove 80 MPH, No Tickets! Meet a New Friend Named Randy. Saw his Neat Blue 1969 Camaro & 1958 Nash Convertible. Saw 3 Good Vintage Tin Projects From his Shop To location of Krw Stands. 68 Chevy Short Wide Bed, 1950 Chevy Coupe & WWII Jeep with Cab Top. Had a Blast, Gee, Boys & Girls! Don't You Wished You Lived In Texas! ? Moral to the Story, What Goes Around Comes Around, There Still Out There!
Here's a NOS ons, in the crate. I think (?) that Dick Spadaro is/was the owner. I need a base for mine. Traded about $100 worth of Model A parts for it.
I found this one in some junk behind Blairs speed shop. It doesn't have an original base or head but I like it just fine because I can picture Don Blair using it in the old days building race engines.
Does anyone have the Oil Pan Bracket That attaches to the Pedalsatl? Or a Pic Of it? Thanks BigDTexasKid Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
When I got mine back in the 60's, it had the square base. I threw that away and made a "T" shaped base from 4" channel because it wouldn't fit between the legs of my engine lift. One real plus mine had was a worm gear attachment for cranking the engine over into any position desired. A nice feature.
