Technical 1940 Chrysler Windsor xmsn

    What the heck would the xmsn be in this 40 Windsor?

    If that's the original layout, there doesn't appear to be a clutch pedal, either.

    On edit, I contacted the seller. he said it's a std shift and there IS a clutch pedal
    I don't recall seeing a quadrant like that.

    Cool car,,they had a lot of plastic/bakelite ? could be reproduced with a 3d printer....

    Yes, I have a '40 Royal (avatar) and was seriously considering making those soybean parts on a 3d machine.
    However, I found that a 46-47 dash will fit with a little modification.
    IMO, those look much better than the '40 and with some more work, was able to fit a Kenwood
    CD / radio unit into the big chrome center piece. Kenwood has a stepped front that nearly fits, but the chrome piece had to be opened up on the backside just a little.

    On enlargement, it now looks like a regular 3-speed shift. The way the lever entered the column opening kinda threw me off. Doh
