Came across this photo with the description "Safety Beach races, Dromana", ( Victoria, Australia.) I was born 1953 in the Dromana hospital, just across the road from the beach. Description goes on to mention the two ladies had their hair done in that style as otherwise the helmets would'nt fit. Early girl power

This is the last paragraph from a previous post on an Alvis-Mercury Special; Australian Motor Sports editor Arthur Wylie is writing about Laurie Oxenford, the builder of the Alvis-Mercury ......... Wylie seems to have had a peculiar sense of humour and he must have known Laurie well, to be making a joke about Laurie's broken leg.
Interesting. Anglia grille, looks like mid thirties glass fenders maybe parts of a TD tub. With a Chevy 6cyl... Wonder when it was built ? Mike

Mike[/QUOTE] Does look like a poor effort to replicate a Anglia grille . BMW had a similar grille in 1937 and i think thats what the builder was after. Don,t know what was said in the film as i could,nt get any sound.
