My wife's grandfather is Bob (Albert) Ross is in the Hall of Fame for jalopies. We have recently found boxes of memorabilia, pictures and trophies. I have a sign board signed with all the racers from the 50s and '60s. I mean I have a ton I'm looking for somebody to appraise what I have. If anybody knows or I can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated thank you very much

Stuff like this usually has a fairly localized appeal. It would be nice to know where and when he raced. Actual track names and years would be good.

Don't expect a lot; I have a well documented Midwestern race car that was State Champion for several years and held many individual track championships. I have owned the car over thirty years and vintage raced it for the first twenty. I have seen the interest in the car and documentation drop a bunch over the intervening years. And the car wernt no jalopy, as you can see from this shot taken at Arlington (MN).

  3. Most Hall's of fame are zonal to some degree. I'd contact them and maybe get put in touch with more local people that would be interested in what you have. Valus on racers specifically seem to be more personal than national. Once you become known nationally then you're more recognizable. Best of luck to ya.

  4. I should have asked what his name was.

Welcome to the HAMB from East Tennessee. As @tubman said, you will have to provide more information if you want answers. I raced in the Central Coast area of California for years with some success, but I doubt anyone outside of that area knows me. For that matter, as old as I am, I doubt there are too many in that area who are old enough to remember me. I am sure that the information you have on Bob Ross is interesting and we would like to see it, but if all you're looking for is an appraisal, we have a "What's it Worth" section in the classifieds.

The problem here is that anyone who was a fan during this time is at the very least in their mid-seventies by now.

Cool pictures. '32 Fords, 5 window, 3 window and sedans. They deserve a high quality scan.

Not too many West Coast drivers in these lists that I'm familiar with, but I will say that Bob Ross was consistently in the top runners. The West Coast Hall of Fame might help you.
