Picked this little jewel up today. 39 fordor. Flathead with a 3 speed. Those will come out of course lol :p one of those impulse buys that I didn't need, but other than the floor, and some rust in the rear fenders, it's a solid car! 20251101_182204.jpg 20251101_182214.jpg 20251101_182227.jpg 20251101_182255.jpg 20251101_182305.jpg

I don’t think I’ve ever seen headlight rings like that.

Toss a milk crate and do what you say! :)
I'm sure it's got a checklist of items, but it looks okay in the pics.

Cool! I've got one, too. the headlight on mine are aftermarket sealed beam conversions, common upgrade for these. Might be what your car has. I need to work on mine, get it back on the road. Bought mine 52 years ago, it was a daily for years, running a 283 Chevy. Good score!

Some inspiration for ya. I really loved this car. I’d still have it if it wasn’t for hard times financially.

305 SBC mated to the stock drivetrain.

I looked online, a full floor is around $550, but I'm sure shipping is stupid. Metals depot is 15 minutes away, a 4x8 sheet of 18g is less than $100 lol...

Every piece of glass on that thing is roached. If only you knew a guy who could handle that sort of thing...

    Nice little car.

I know right! I believe i have enough glass in stock to replace it all, but the gaskets are a different story. Think I'll let whoever buys it take care of that.

Ok, that’s better…. I just couldn’t imagine our resident hard workin’, hard drinking, loud and fast gasser guy driving an underpowered, tail draggin’, four door. All is right with the world after all….
Edit; BTW the****le of this thread should be the inspiration for a new rockabilly tune.

So..... I have a local buddy that's pretty versed in the flathead ford and Ford interchange in general, I called him, inquiring about sticking an 8ba in the car. He told me the general info about the truck bellhousing, but he said something about seeing which bellhousing is on the 8ba. So I'm gonna ask here, Andy is bringing the 8ba with the bellhousing and clutch****embly, I have the complete 39 Ford setup, what do I need to acquire to put the 8ba into the 39?
