Hey, just want to thank you guys for all your help. I haven't gotten anywhere with the info and contacts I've made so far but still trying. Does anyone know a source that can track ownership by license plate or vin (ID number)? To my knowledge, it was last registered in California.

Going by the color of the plate on the bike, I would say it is in the '70's. I sold it in 1969 when I got drafted.

Well, I did get some info. The last the car was seen was a number of years ago and it was in parts. It was somewhere in the city of Hawthorne (which is where the guy lived that I sold it to). It was in a garage but the building is no longer there. So I guess Troubles is in Hotrod Heaven now. That doesn't mean I'm gonna stop looking.

Would be great for the sake of sentimentality, to find the original car but why not build another one like it. This style/era of hot rod simply rules...

I hope Jay is still checking in time to time?

There is a guy in Torrance that was selling **** Allen fork parts locally, saw him at LARS a few years back, I will try and find his contact, he had lots of knowledge and I think he knew **** from the Hawthorne/ Lawndale days.
