Drilling steam holes on earlier Ford 302

    Decided to go with some aftermarket Edelbrock 5023 street heads. Instructions say to drill 1/8" steam holes in deck on cylinders 1 & 5 using the head gasket as template. This is for early models that had the water p***ages directly above cylinders. Searching I see many mixed opinions on this. What's the thoughts on this?

    Does it specify which small block Ford's to drill them holes????....

    yes the earlier 302's that had the water p***age directly above the cylinders .I decided to go ahead and do it
