Another vote for Wheel Smith. They've made me several sets of both early Ford style steelies and wires. Easy to deal with, fast and reasonable. Ask for Rex.

Another vote for Wheelsmith. I've bought steelies from Cragar, wheel vintiques and others through Summit and other sites, but i went with Wheelsmith for the set for the Buick. Reasonably priced per wheel, but remember if you have them powder coated, add caps and trim rings, it does add up a little bit, but you are getting exactly what you want from them too. I am very happy with them though, theyre a great business to deal with and would absolutely use them again

This could save you some $$$.

1930's-40's Mopar rims are 16 and use a 4.5" x 5 bolt pattern...same as late model Ford bolt pattern.
I used a set of 1940 Dodge 16" X 4.5" rims on my Sedan Delivery when I first built it with 600 x 16s & 750 x 16s. I had 4 wheel disc brakes on it and the wheels bolted right up.
Note: the Mopar rims use "clips" to hold the hubcaps on, so I simply removed the centers out of the Mopar and '48 Ford hubcaps and mounted the Mopar centers (with PL400) into the Ford caps so they could be held on by the clips.

International pickup wheels are what you want. They were made in 16x5 I think, and have a 4.5” bolt pattern, and a 40-48 Ford hubcap fits perfectly. Be aware that there are a couple different offsets, so make sure the wheels you find are a match.

Bingo! Also the 1949 Ford Car 6 cylinder wheels but those take an outside bump hubcap

Wheelsmith pretty well makes the wheels to order rather than having a warehouse full of ready to ship like other places. The good for that is that they can make them to fit your needs rather than you settling for only what a manufacture offers. Screenshot (1658).png
