Some of those cars sold (and some that didn't sell) for an entirely different price then I would have expected! It was interesting to see how much less some sold for then I expected, and how much more some were sold for then I expected. I know being there and looking at the ride up close and personally could have been the reason some brought the prices they did, but over the ones I looked at (the first 8-9 pages worth), there were many surprises in body directions. It appears some buyers got really good deals, some buyers may have over paid. Some rides that didn't sell, should have, and some that didn't sell I probably would not have sold either. Maybe that is the reason I'm not in the auto sales game...
Fridays sale ende at 6:30 and the GM announced thier sold percentage was 76 percent. They start up again this morning at 9 with memorabilia at 9 and vehicles at 9:30. There is a Hemi Superbird that I don't think has ran yet, it will be interexting to see what it does. The listing says numbers matching so I guess it's the real deal.
This is a good example of why young people for the most part will never have the pleasure of a old car, it is pretty crazy what some of this stuff brings. This sale is local to me and I am in and out of shops where some of these cars come and go. Point being some can be pretty sketchy. They are all sold AS-IS-WHERE-IS.
In my feeble opinion: the hobby car market was at it's peak in 22. Since then it has a slow decline. 25 can be described as hit or miss. Watching auctions is interesting. The last couple of months has been somewhat unpredictable. You will see 2 similar cars with varied results. As most of you might agree, cars as investments aren't always going to end well.
40 sedan looks to,have been a fairly good deal, but a friend who has attended many auctions tells me, “You might not think so if you saw it in person”.
