That is one cool Vette! It’s amazing what a set of real Americans, a hot small block, a Hurst and a Sun tach can do ; in the vibe department!

    Beautiful!

It needs the tach put back up on the top of the dash, other than that it's perfect

Doesn't get any better than that Corvette! Sorry to hear he's making any changes though. All I'd do is change to newer pie crust slicks to make sure the old ones didn't come apart.

Man I don’t know what’s cooler that vette or that he lives close! Ya gotta have him over to help bleed the roadster brakes or something. Having a hotrod neighbor within walking distance to bs is fantastic.

Also anyone else having this issue with the journal posts photo carousel lately? IMG_2648.jpeg regardless of my internet connection I just get the loading bar until I give up most times. If it does show up it’s after a really long time.

Just wondering if I’m the only one.

Wicked cool. "My Neighbor's Corvette" sounds like it comes on right after Route 66.....back in the day.

I had a similar 1960 that lived down the street and around the corner from me. Straight axle style, but a more recent construction. I never saw it driving around, only when I drove by and his garage door was open.

That is a******'n old Corvette, not often you see American LeMans wheels on a street car.
I'm not nitpicking the car, but that new Hurst shifter ball HAS TO GO, it deserves an old yellow and cracked ball.

I found one on ebay for mine. I kept getting confused with the plain ball, and the PG shift pattern on the console plate.

Too Cool! I hated a bad neighbor when I lived in L.A. Good neighbors are hard to get! However, when I was a kid there was a kid who had moved in down the street. His dad had a bug with a 396 sticking out of the front and he drove from the back seat! His dad sold that and had a '37 Ford pickup with a blower in it. We became friends and would hang out in his room and read his dad's Hot Rod magazines! Those were the days of 2 car crazy kids!

  17. Your neighbor's Vette is so period correct! That's the way Corvettes were hot rodded back in the day, before they got so darn expensive!!

    @Joey Ukrop -

For some odd reason , I'm really diggin' the tire and wheel combination on your neighbor's Corvette! . . .

    The HEMI32 Coupe - 1964.jpg
Front: American Racing (magnesium) LeMans series Torq Thrust on (bias-ply) whitewalls
Rear: American Racing (magnesium) Torq Thrust rear on Bruce's (pie-crust) slicks

I don't think there were any Lemans wheels around here back then. I am starting to like them a lot.

Just to document local history…Lemans wheels were around Pa. in the 60’s. I possess a pair of 4” that were on an old drag coupe that ran Maple. A set of four 6”, that were ordered new by a old Harrisburg Snapon man for his split in 1964; and a pair of 6”that were on a local buddy’s’55 Mad, in 1967. I agree , the old yellowed knobs speak volumes! IMG_0135.jpeg IMG_0108.jpeg

It seems to me, there was a time; that they were not in vogue. Some guys just dismissed them as the Torque Thrusts ugly cousin. I know the ones I have came to me pretty cheap, but that was a long time ago.

Whenever I think of American Racing Le Mans wheels, my mind skips back to this shot and caption from TRJ #25.
