that's amazing! It is a pity you can't find those things anymore. I 've seen something similar in a grandin road few weeks ago, but of course the materials are not the same, you can clearly see it.

 

My folks had the chair and coach in a refried beans color, I believe we had it until 1971 or so.

 

found an abused and forlorn pair of end tables at a thrift store for $4.99 each
couple hours of love and they get a new lease on life

the couple hours may be a slight under statement.
refurbish involved complete dismantle,
strip and sand, oxalic acid to remove water stains, wood filler on minor flaws, more sanding, stain, wipe on poly and re***embly.
they still show some wear and signs of use but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.

 

I never find anything worth dragging home.

My Parent bought this German "Shrunk" liquor cabinet back in the late 50's ... made two trips back and forth between Germany and the U.S. while my Dad was in the USAF... Dad p***ed away in 2013 and my Mom in June... didn't have room for it.. sold it to a great couple that was excited to have it..

 

My wife picked up two walnut surfboard style tables. We haven't even finished unwrapping one of them yet, but they look really nice

 

2 Barcelona chairs we got from my aunt. They are later versions, not the original 30s ones. We didn't have room for them, so they were sold. They are quite comfortable.

 

My Majestic. Found in the trunk of a junkyard car, and lovingly restored.

I have one similar in my boiler room holding a remanufactured Ford V10 cylinder head off the floor.

Growing up in the fifties we had two end tables like that.
