View attachment 6557847 [/QUOTE] I’ve got that shamed I er and found it in OK Falls, BC. And fitness guy thanks for the guilt! I have a handful of what I built when was a kid and about 110 kits I bought over the years up in my attic I should build... Stalled on my real projects since my 2 strokes 14 months ago so maybe I should start attacking the horde! A lot of die-cast as well. I bought/ built when they were $2.98 CDN, Testor spray was $.98 a can, little bottles of paint $.15 a bottle. Saw some kits a couple of weeks ago at $49.99 and up. My gawd things have got very expensive. But on the other hand I have my pensions and don’t rely on $.25 a week for chores...
This is a new-tooled 1971 Dodge Demon i finished last night for a model show my club (Long Island LIARS) hosts on Saturday. This is a sub-theme cl***. I think we may have around 10 or more entries. Paint is Duplicolor, clear coat is SEM 1K gloss. The wheels and tires are 3D printed. o are other small parts like the carb, coil, gas filler. I used the Revell chrome spray paint on the grille and exhaust tips.
This model show is happening tomorrow, I'll be there with some of my hot rods on the compe***ion tables.
Getting a drivers license in early 1967 killed my model building, maybe this is the Winter i get back to finishing some.
I'm no where near as polished as you guy's, but, I enjoy scratch building things like the ****py home made trailers we used and the ramp truck.
they had a big AMT model display at WalMart last time I was there... luckily they did not have this 51 in the display or I would have bought one.
Found a 40 sedan kit on marketplace this summer. Recreated my sedan in a scale version including the orange engine under the hood now.
I actually built an early 60s style custom out of the same revell 56 Chevy del ray kit. Actually built that very kit like twenty times in various ways. Hold on I'll hunt some pics
Best I could come up with without getting out of bed. Under construction of the kustom with a k 56 Then the g***er 56
Few more under construction pics of the 56 Chevy. And then some of a full custom revell 57 Ford I did.
I was a vendor, so I didn't get out to see that many cars on the tables. If you are local, the club meets on every 3rd Thursday in Bluepoint. 7 pm at the Henrietta Acompura lodge on 27A about a 1/4 mile east of Nichols Road. Just past King Kullen, before 7-11. There is another show in late March at the same venue put on by the LISM club which is mainly military. But we bring tons of cars to it.
I guess model car Sunday isn't a thing anymore? Lots of really good builds on this thread. Dan, wow. You've gotten REALLY good at this!!! Here's a few of my more recent "on topic" models.
When they released the 64 Olds kit I remember thinking, I hope Eric builds his Olds, and you did! Looks killer and that Corvair, wow!
The model bench I made for my 4 year old son to start building models with me he is 49 now still building and yes still has that 45 year old model building bench. Also some picts of his 400 plus unbuilt kits and another 100 or more we built and display.
