I spy a polished piston rod exhaust hanger.
Very cool touch to a beautiful car.
Could exhaust heat have caused distortion? I don't see a nick in the finish.

I know, just not right. Good thing I have the old trusty backup.

Thanks Mike, think we are good. My buddy Nathan just up the road has freezer space.

Yes, they did and I've not enjoyed myself like that in a long time. It was a real pleasure working with a father and son who enjoy each other's company and also know which way the wrenches turn. They're good people and I thank them for their help.

We had a great time. Ethan said anytime.
Even though we didn’t understand anything about how to take the transmission out.

Henry Ford's idea was to drop the rear end and roll it back, and that's what we did on the '48. but pulling the engine and trans together is a heck of a lot simpler. That's what I did on the '46 Merc to get this transmission. I'm just really glad you guys were there with me on the '48.

Cleaning out the Chrysler 354 for our 33-34 Ford frame project. We'll remove the frost plugs this week. It looks like 6 cylinders are honed to .010, 2 are .020 o_O Hope we can get all eight to .030.
