I remember this guy came on and talked about this build and drive. https://www.ebay.com/itm/167849634225
One that is way off the typical build. https://cl***iccars.com/listings/view/1996789/1923-ford-t-bucket-for-sale-in-kentwood-michigan-49512
I'll be dipped... guy actually finished it, - or someone cloned his idea. Was a writeup/partial feature in a 1001 Rod& Custom Ideas in the 80s(?). Don't have the mag at my fingertips. Nose & sidepods look abit different than I remember, but still... I like it. Bet that'd be a fun ride... Looks like some p***engers did some serious ****-clenching... . Marcus...
I figured I'd show this one, since it's Published back in the day. https://cl***iccars.com/listings/vi...el-t-for-sale-in-kelseyville-california-95451 Are you about nostalgic hot rods? The one and only Golden State T is available. Famous show and magazine car driven all over the U.S. throughout the 40s 50s 60s & 70s. First time on the market in over 75 years. Sporting a supercharged small block and polished Jaguar rear suspension & differential. Comes with a room full of trophies and memorabilia. Clean California ***le in hand.
This one is also an old build recently restored with a steel body and for those who must have a Ford in a Ford, it's got that too. Looks nice, but I don't know if the market will support that price. https://cl***iccars.com/listings/vi...-bucket-for-sale-in-carlsbad-california-92009
@swade41 that one sure is different. Interesting, 340 wasn't out in 64, so that's an update, rare to supercharge a SBM due to 4 bolts per cylinder, and an 871 plus nitrous! The drag history is very neat.
I know that people build stuff to their own standards. I hear some ask about R&P steering for a T. I offer this as an example of what I'd personally consider a poor integration of it to a T. You do yours how you want. I will judge you on how it's done, though. BTW, this one is posted in the off topic CL FB listing post. I think it's cheap enough to be a viable project for someone, but it needs some changes. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...marketplace-cars.1316656/page-5#post-15737555
I really don't like Shorts, but saw this one and figured I'd share one. https://www.youtube.com/embed/qNu-x-l1q9c
Looking for a name in the main T-Bucket thread, I came across some pics. This one sure fits better over here. Looks like a 26-27. Narrow slicks, a ton of chrome and I'd guess it was just bolted together since there's no blower belt. I'd guess it would be a handful on the street with blower and injection, plus the limiting tires and brakes!
Judging by Chip's historic timelines in the UGLY thread, Black interior, narrow slicks, White headers it is probably 65-68. I doubt there were many who had a 2 port injector sorted for the street, and I don't even see hoses. It might be hiding a carb inside, ala other show cars. Still is pretty and flashy.
wouldn't be hard to carb it and drive it, if that's what someone wanted to do. But I get the idea that it was built to look fast, not be fast.
Here's one for @Dave G in Gansevoort to drool over. Not quite like his project, but turtle decks aren't as common. Here's Dave's thread. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-whatever-project.1207045/ Yep, another big guy, little car.
Since the main T thread has had some good history here and there, might as well add a bit here. This is certainly later than 65. It might not be to everyone's taste, but it sure helped the T and Andy become more popular. https://www.hotrod.com/news/0503sr-andys-milestone-t-bucket https://www.tbucketplans.com/andy-the-rodfather-brizio-and-the-instant-t/ https://fuelcurve.com/andy-brizio-instant-t/ https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/our-latest-project-andys-instant-t.1279174/ https://www.3dog.org/project/1968-instant-t-andy-brizio
Dude looks like he's riding it, not driving it. Seating position probably could have done with a little more thought.
The car in the foreground in the second picture is Chris's Viper bucket. Pretty wild. His older one has a blown 440. His wife's has a 360
That triggered a memory of an old Trosley cartoon. Wild car at the gas station, the attendant with the filler stuck in the back is yelling "Shut it off, it's gaining on me!"
I'm not as well versed in the names of the historic T bucket builders. This one is advertised as being a 1960s show car that was rebuilt. Mike Beesley's 1923 Plum Crazy T bucket. Originally built in the 1960's for the car show circuit. Appeared in the 1966 Oakland Roadster show. I purchased this in 2011 and did a complete rebuild of the T bucket. It's not HAMB style in it's current guise, so I'm linking it here. Hope someone can provide some old pics. It seems like a decent deal for what's there, even without the history, although there are few things. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2286322945147184/ The seller's FB page. I can't scroll far but it should have more pics of other 23s. https://www.facebook.com/1923TBuckets/ Here are some from that show. https://fuelcurve.com/1966-oakland-roadster-show/ which is referenced here https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1966-oakland-roadster-show-archives.1077450/ More dated and undated pics from various years. https://public.fotki.com/LOUD-PEDAL/hot-rod-car-shows-i/oakland-roadster-show/
