The flathead is unstuck lol. And with a little instruction from Tim @51504bat , the starter now works. Engine is cranking good. Pulled the distributor to clean points and bam, one of the breaker points has a broken spring  where is the best place to buy this stuff?

Nope, all of those parts houses are gone around here. Seen a set on Bob drakes sight, but i know Nothing about this stuff. Hate like hell to buy points so that I can find out that the coil is bad lol. Seen the electronic setup, but everything is 2 bolt, mine is 3 bolt, and they're outrageous. I just wanna hear it run lol.

I’d rather buy it with a stuck flathead than a sbc..

Who needs 2 sets of points? Try it with 1 set where the secondary points would be located.

I bought a distributor from the auction site. Figured I'd be better off with buying a complete setup rather than buying points, then need something else lol. Fingers crossed

Yeah, on a flathead Ford, the official name for the intake manifold is "valve cover".

I'll push it in a lake before I put that much effort into making 85hp. :p

I think valves can stick open after sitting a long time. If you can figure out which cylinders you can spray some lube at the stuck valves and carefully try to push them down thru the plug holes... might take several tries to get em moving... you may get to experience 85 hp yet!!

It has good compression on every cylinder. I put a different distributor in it, it's close, but I'm positive it's still out of time. Wires are junk, and if course the carb was froze up solid with a half inch of crud in the bowl. I've got a carb ordered, supposed to be here this week sometime. See if I can figure out how to make run any better.
