if oranges are orange how come lemons are not called yellows?

 

This is my kind of yellow. New windshield, good wash, mount new rubber and balance the tires. Calls for a 283 and a powerglide, what a ride… Wouldn’t have to fight Anthony to drive it, he doesn’t like g***er style.

 

Obviously, I like yellow cars, depending on the yellow and the car. Painted a 33 coupe a pale yellow from a Cadillac, was horrible. I agree, yellow doesn't work very well on customs.

This is a photo that Craig Wise took that made me think I it would be killer to do a '40 convertible in Wheatland Yellow with black upholstery, blackwall tires and Halibrand's as if Gary decided to build an "old guy" car.

 

Originally built by ****ie Carroll as his work truck when he was building houses, Gary Opitz's '40 pickup has always been one of my favorites.

 

I'm a fan, as you can tell from the examples I posted.

The give away in Wheatland yellow and I’d guess I’d call the coupe a variation of yellow.

 

Just sold the bare metal roadster and am starting a full fendered deuce roadster that will be Wheatland Yellow with black top and interior. It will be my 6th or 7th Wheatland Yellow car? Also there is nothing wrong with the yellow & white 56 Chevy Bel Air Hdt. with white walls from the Larry Watson collection on the first page.

 

So far, on this thread, I've seen a lot of pictures of school buses.

Pete: I don't know what you call Roger Wards original Kesslers #1 or Gary Kesslers #2 deuce highboys or the 2004 NSRA giveaway if not a hot rod? I agree Boycs roadster is a really cool car but a little impractical for much street driving.

Sorry for the bad pic.... I found this critter on Catalina Island many years ago. Managed to talk my way into the Oakland Roadster Show at the last minute. I had to park under the stairs between the motorcycles. Probably 1989.....

 

Yellow looks great on the right car. With that said, it can also ruin a car. Here is my yellow car. You can decide if I ruined it or not.

 

Was that the one with the Studebaker motor? It was for sale right? I had just bought a car, or I would have bought it.

 

This is what Gary's (krylon32) Wheatland yellow looks like. All of his yellow cars were this color; he can't make any mistakes using this color.

 

This one looked pretty hot rod to me. Under the lights at Autorama. Forgive my finger.

 

This one meets the criteria, the bar is not set very high. Not my photo, and no finger.

I was not a fan of yellow until I purchased this 34 and am ok with it.

 

I'm not a super fan of yellow, but the only thing that I would change if I owned your truck is the chrome cowl vent. I think your truck looks great in that shade of yellow!

 

@akoutlaw agreed I never liked chrome cowl vents either, this one was done possibly in the 1960s
