One of my favorite photos I have ever taken of my coupe. This was on a summer day when the CrossMemberCC was in the process of planning our Hot Rod Hundred events and I decided to take a ride out old Route 66 west of Springfield, MO.

    And the actual color version.

I was waiting on my food and thought it was too kool and I was surprised not to see it on the thread. So patiently waiting on my order I had to do something.... Sorry I'll delete it. You can consider this to be the trailer. Now you can tell the rest of the story...

Well...I didn't mean for @straykatkustoms to delete the pic, but here it is again.
    Backyard Clean UP 2025.jpeg
Instead of it's job as being part of Christmas Mini Photo shoots this year, the '40 stake truck got the job to be a regular work truck, hauling off the brush that I have allowed to grow behind my back fence for the last 20 years.

I told my wife that this is pretty much exactly how I got to know this truck back around 1978, when I was working some weekends helping Uncle Bob clean up brush on his property north of St Charles, MO. I was around 12 years old when I first drove it, loading brush and hauling it to the big burn piles.

Uncle Bob was an interesting fellow. While I was working, he was inside the building, "working" calling his network of widows who he would visit to make sure their husband's old cars were still in running condition with the intentions of being the guy who they would eventually sell them to. While doing so, he was usually busy emptying beer cans, which allowed me to be his under aged designated driver, a job that my mother did NOT approve of.
