Like a lot of girls I knew in HS, a lot better from the back (I meant the rear...I mean from behind...damn it, the photos from behind). I'd loose the quads up front.

  4. I picked this up about a year and a half ago. I was approached at a car show when I had my bug there, and the lady asked if I'd be interested in fixing a Dune Buggy so she could sell it. Her son had passed away on Christmas day 2 years earlier, and the Buggy and his house was all she had left. I went and looked at it, made her an honest offer, and bought it. That's when I found out her son was a young guy I had worked with. Here son and I would sit together at lunch, and we would joke around throughout the day. Nobody knew he owned the Buggy. I put brakes on it, as well as dropped spindles and have been driving it ever since. I've done a few maintenance things to it, and the wiring is typical kit car garbage, but that's an easy fix for me. It's not a Manx, but a KC Clipper body that was made in Kansas City. It's a b;ast to drive. The picture on the trailer was the day I brought it home. The second picture is after I'd had it a few days, and before I did the brakes and dropped spindles.

I got this dune buggy from a long time customer years ago. I knew he had it because he had mentioned it knowing I was into cars. He called me up one day and said he's selling his old house and its going to be torn down, do I want the dune buggy? Heck yeah! I had recently picked up another project but what the heck. He gave me a sweet deal on it. It was in this little shed with junk on top of the car. I pulled it out and took it home and stashed it away. Pretty neat buggy, apparently it was his year round daily driver. Side curtains and a removable hard top. It sat for a long time because I had other commitments. He called me up several years later and asked if he could buy it back. Sure no problem, so off it went. Havent talked to him since.

Found this old mag in my stash last week, 1970 edition. buggy1.jpg buggy2.jpg attachmentYHW640HD.jpg dune buggy mag.jpg

  6. My Dune Buggy also has a top, side curtains, and a Ford gas heater.
