Technical 57 Pontiac dash illumination colour

Can anyone confirm what the correct dash panel illumination colour is for a 57 Pontiac.

 

I have no idea, but bumping it back up for you.

 

The one I had way back when was white, just a plane bulb, no color.

 

Yeah, I don't recall seeing colored dash lights until the '60s other than indicator lights. And when they did show up, it was done with colored lenses which were part of the dash ***embly, not colored lamps.

 

My 57 Pontiac had stock regular white dash bulbs. No color.

 

The original bulbs in my 1957 Plymouth dash were green tinted.

#53 for high beam indicator, #57 for the rest. They shine thru red or green celluloid in the sockets.

 

Quick update. I should have took the illuminated column shifter off first as its original lens confirm a green illumination. Starting to take shape now.

 

Not for everyone but I swapped out the plain incandescent bulbs for ice blue LEDs in mine all around. They were just plain white.
